Whew. A lot has happened in the last 9 months. Without going into too many details, I had a big surgery that put me out of commission a while. The good news? (Other than being alive and healthy, of course) I managed to hammer out a first draft on a new project. Before you start asking questions about the old stuff, journey with me a moment into the realm of new beginnings.
Sometimes you’ve gotta get out of your comfort zone and try something different. And that’s what I did. I scrapped what I was working on in the past (sort of) and started working on something brand new. I bought a bunch of notebooks, layered out the plot and characters, drew pictures and maps and diagrams and timelines and once all that was finally done I sat down at my laptop and began to write. Then my mouse stopped working, and I got a bit off track, but once that was fixed (mostly) I started writing again. Now I have a shiny new project I’m almost proud of. I also wrote a song, but that’s another story for another day.
Back to the project. First draft is done. Cold reading is imminent. Beta readers are in place. Are you excited yet? Stay with me on this one. It’s showing great promise, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.
When it’s ready, you’ll know. Because I will tell you. Probably. Or not. No, I will definitely tell you.
